Buderus/Riello service reps?
Saggs

I have a customer in central VT w/ a buderus 215 and a f-40 riello burner, They have been having constant problems w/ their burner needing to be reset every several days usually a few months after a tune-up. I have talked to the factory techs and have the pump pressure, draft, air, head insertion, etc... all set to their specs. Using a 1.25-80B nozzle. I get 12 1/2% co2 and a zero smoke, looks great when I leave then I find the nozzle sooty and the turbulator head sooty and needing reset several months after the service. Have tried new electrodes and control box w/ no success. It's a four section. Anyway, I'd like to see about getting a buderus/riello rep out there to take a look at it. Any ideas? Thx

has the saggs a jpg that might be perused?
perhaps there is an immediate answer that someone here might "see"0 -
Suggest to replace the nozzle with a Delevan 1.10 60 degree "W" with pump pressure at 165 Psi. Check that draft is negative .02 at breech. Any questions please contact us or Riello from the site. Thanks,0 -
Joe, thx for the suggestion, I'll try this and time will tell if that's the fix.0 -
combustion air
Does the mechinical room have a combustion air inlet and has any one pull the burner apart and check the fan to insure that it is clean and the air inlet does this riello have a valve acuted air inlet damper .Also is the burner piped in a single pipe or 2 pipe and has any one checked to see what kind of vacume the pump is pulling ,how is your oil tank .On just about all oil jobs i do if it's a 2 pipe i convert it to a single pipe and install a tiger loop it only draws what the burner uses and does not pump oil back to the tank it's a great device and very common in europe on oil burners. Also check all electrical connection and the cad cell ,check the burner for vibration they may loosen connections .good luck and peace clammyR.A. Joe brought up a ......
Very important point, the draft!!!!! If you're getting coke buildup on the retention ring, the fire is most likely "floating" off of its perch. This will be accompanied by an increase in the noise level also. If you listen closely, you can actually hear this happening.( thank you Charlie Smith, who now is with Buderus and used to work for Riello)
I like his suggestion on the Delevan 60°W and increasing the pump pressure. He has the latest specs. (ask me, I call them all the time to make sure I have them too!) Let us know how you make out. Chris0 -
