Horizontal Venting

Such a long horizontal run is asking for trouble. It won't move nearly as much flue gas due to the extra resistance and may clog more easily. It may also be against Code in your area.

What about moving the boiler closer to where the vertical will be?

    Oil Boiler Venting

    I'm going to be installing a VB-22 in a new home.Initially it was going to be vented out the wall, but I felt that the customer would not be happy with that in the summer.They have 2 wood fireplaces in the middle of the house so the custemer said he would have no problem with a third vent going up.The problem is that this would mean about 20' of horizontal piping, plus 2 90's, running in the basement.Viessman does not say you can't do this only that you need to keep it to a minimum.Is this allowable venting?

    The stack temp drop

    will be very high and you will more than likly cause condenstion in the end of the flue pipe and up the chimney. as steamhead said i would not recomend this can you move the boiler closer to the chimney?...David
