We switched exclusively to the new Honeywell VisionPRO 8000 series stat. Large touch screen, great features, very reliable as expected from Honeywell.

Need thermostat recommendation
I've got a beautiful munchkin with triangle indirect running 2 hydronic air coils. (thanks for the advice last year). Our heating and hot water bill has plunged down.
(We also have A/C).
We were using the Home Depot Rite-Temp touch screen thermostats, but they are flaking out. (they stop responding needing a reset etc).
I like the big letters and the touchscreen, but i want a quality unit that can do all the setback work. I plan to live in the house long, im not looking for bargain.
So can anyone recommend a thermostat?0 -
I have two VisionPros
You can pull the stat off the wall bracket to sit and program it, very easy. The back lighted touch screen works well. One can also add remote sensors to average temp sensing. I was surprised that they were turning on the heat based on how long it takes the area to come up to temp. As it got colder the stat appeared to be learning that it had to start heating earlier.
A very cool device.0
