Lennox Distribution Centers??

...where Lennox has their distribution centers?

Maybe one of you knows off hand. When I did a very quick and basic search, I only found their Texas location.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

The call centers route you. Texas & Canada process the orders. In Michigan our equipment is from Auburn Hills, parts are from all over.

    The two major warehouses

I'm aware of are in Dallas, Texas and Des Moines, Iowa.

Other than that, I know the Chicago Location is in the western suburb of Glendale Heights. I'm sure there are sub warehouses near every MAJOR city.

    The reason I ask is....

...way back in the 1980's when thin ties and leg warmers were in Lennox was extremely tight on there parts and equipment.I worked for two different Lennox dealers for a total of seven years and at that time the only way anyone other than another Lennox dealer was getting any parts was to go thru the gauntlet (kinda like the treatment you get the first time you pass over the equator on a naval vessel) thru your local Lennox dealer.Times have changed and thay (Lennox) are still very tight. The Johnstone's that I work for (There independently owned and operated) are in fact an authorized Lennox parts distributor somehow. Now the latest word is that Lennox & McQuey have recently signed a national agreement with Johnstone Corporate for parts but I do not know if that is just for support for Service Experts (Lennox) and the Local McQuey Commercial Service dept. but I will find out at the annual meeting next week in Philadelphia for you.

    Johnstone

I heard that rumor. Has it happened?

Indy has a tiny branch again, they seem to stock little. Most parts I get come from Columbus or Cincy OH or Des Moines. Lennox won't open an account for us, too small to bother with they say. So I call a lady in TX sitting in her living room who arranges for the part and adds her markup. The poor Lennox owner pays!

    Crossing the equator

AND 21st birthday @ the same time.....talk about double whammy :O)

Even though it was 35 yrs ago, I'll never forget it. Kitchen slop, table scraps, dumped overboard (safely), total humiliation, made to get incredibly drunk, (my present drinking problems are all their fault :) )not).

Wow, what memories that brought back, thanks, I think.

    Now, what's for supper.

    Brian in still 95* swampland.

    Mike,

Lennox has distribution centers in major cities all over the US. The ones I am most familiar with are in my area. For example our local warehouse is about 100 miles away in Parsippany, NJ (Northern NJ). We can order parts or equipment from any warehouse if the Jersey warehouse is out. I routinely order parts from the Philadelphia, Boston and Baltimore warehouses. Some parts are only stocked in Des Moines IA.

I am sure you area aware that Lennox is unique in the HVAC industry in that they sell direct to the dealer and do not have area reps or stocking wholesalers. That's a plus and a minus depending on where your are looking at it from.

    Jared...

...thanks for the info. I didn't know, but had a suspicion that this is how they go to market.

I guess, what I am really after is who in the end came up with their product catalogue and where they source their products from. I have seen some blue Controls in their catalogue and know that we don't sell them to them directly. So I am hunting the supplier, I guess.....:D When I call Texas, I seem to hit a dead end road...

Not that we mind they offer them, by any means :D

    Thanks again,

    Mike

Mike, Ahhhh, I understand now. They are probably offered through their Dealer Service Center operation at a particular warehouse. I would be willing to bet that they set up with one of your stocking reps to handle the blue controls just like any other wholesaler.

Each warehouse has a dealer service center operation that sells accessories and sundries to their dealers...the same stuff we can buy at typical wholesalers. For example, I can buy Pex tubing and accessories from Lennox through the dealer service center if I wanted to. (But I don't)

If you know what warehouse's catalog you saw you could call that warehouse and ask for the Dealer Service Center Manager.

Lennox must be a federal agency-it almost takes a work of congress to get them to do anything! I've had parts in my hand with their part numbers only to be told they didn't exist at our regional distributor.

    Serpintine....

Thay (Lennox) change there part numbers on the same exact part like crazy (although admittedly so does York Int'l etc.) and unfortunatly It's been my experience the gal (no offense ment) on the other end has N-O idea what you are looking for.I usually keep pestering my way up the command chain until I find someone who actually knows what I am actually looking for or I get hung up on.In there defense thay can only be as helpful as the information thay have access to.Lennox Int'l is HUGH.Thay are one of the largest refrigeration manufactures in this country,Heatcraft:Bohn Larkin,Climate Control,Singer(refrigeration),Chandler,ADP Coil...all Lennox.
