Dumping flue gas

Has any one had any problems with any of the new water heaters dumping flue gas? I have one that I installed next to one of the old style. The old one vents fine. The new one dumps flue gas.

Dave, the answer to that
is yes I have. I have also had very high flue gas temps from the FVIR water heaters, as high as 500 to 550 degrees net.
What brand is this make and Model number? I would suggest contacting the manufacturer. The more of us that call and pester them the more likely they are to respond.
I have also had a case that had the fusible link in the thermocouple melted down for no reason at all.
These new water heaters are an accident waiting to happen.
I have one of these that I removed the draft hood and installed a barometric. I was able to bring the flue gas temp down and decrease CO to below 50 PPM in the flue. The heater was less than one year old and was making 320 PPM CO along with spilling into the room. It was fortunate that the water heater was in a seperate unconnected building from the main structure. It has been runnig fine now since March 2005.0
