Has anyone had any direct experience in their business with using GE financing as a tool for selling installations?

If not GE, what source of financing do you offer?

I used to offer financing

The financing I offered was through a major brand. I sat through a 30 minute taped class(so I could understand how to do the paperwork), gave them the stuff they required, and waited for the customers to beat my door down.

I found that all of the people that needed the financing couldn't get it anywhere because of poor credit. That included the financing through the manufacturer.

When the wholesaler told me the brand was dropping the financing, I wasn't suprised. The manager said something about not many people taking advantage of the offers. Go figure.

It is like everything in this biz, if you don't offer it, people won't know about it. You'd be surprised who will use it. Financing is a tool in your arsenal. Do you use all your to tools on every job, of course not, but if you need them you know where they are. I offer financing on every call, about 5 % use it. I don't care who uses it , but here's the kicker when they use it I have a sale. My thinking is that some people are shy in asking for stuff, especially in their own home, so I make the offer to them during my preso and they take it from there.
