    Cirulator

    Is the Taco 0010 or 0011 replacement for a B&G 100 ?

  • 0010 appears to be the best match to a B&G 100. Nice gentle curve with high volume at low head.

0011 has similar flow ability at low head but is designed for significantly higher head pressure (at significantly lower flow). Flow drops off much more steeply with increasing head.

    Taco 0010

The Taco 0010 does have a similar curve to the B&G 100, with even more head capacity making it an excellent candidate for replacement. However, the Taco 007 will suffice in most applications and will be less expensive for you. Compare the curves and make an informed decision. Please advise, if you require additional assistance.

low head flat curve pumps are usually...

much better cause the wider but smaller diameter impellors don’t stall and cook when zones close down and there is no bypass – and if need more head – I simply add another one in series

just recently i was called in to solve an after the fact problem where they were trying to move water to 288,000 btu worth of baseboards, each of whom, had a Thermostatic-Regulator-Valve (TRV) – and imposable task of course - but i suggested that they use two 0012's in series and a optionally a taco 3196 3/4“differential bypass valve, – this way, they get most of the flow required when the TRV’s are wide open and they wont get pump burnouts when they are mostly closed

in general – low head circs are much more forgiving to lousy piping

Thanks for the correction Joe! Looked up the curves for the mentioned circs and compared them to the B&G 100 and the 0010 was certainly closer and quite flat.

Did notice that the 0010 has a reputation for an exceptionally long life with little or no maintenance.

    Why not use

the B&G NRF 33? Matched to the 100 flow & head.
