Baseray nipples
I must remove 1-24 inch section of a 5 section run of Baseray. Burham informed me to replace the push nipples rather than reuse existing nipples, PROBLEM , how do I remove the old nipples ? They won't move and look as though they have no intention of doing so. Please advise, I have never assembled Baseray before.

I've had to a few times....
and have never had a problem removing them with a pair of slip joint pliers. As long as they were installed correctly(with pipe dope and not some god forsaken hardening goo)they should slip out easily. Maybe a shot of penetrating oil? Just remember to clean it off before reassembling! Chris0 -
push nipples
sometimes you must chop them out even if they are brand new but leaking . it happens. when installing them clean thoroughly & schmear with PERMATEX. no sense doing it twice.0 -
get out the torch and heat the heck out of em
the grab em with a pair of wate pump pliers and twist em out, sometimes they will collapse so i usually put a 3/8 pipe nipple in em0 -
tap tap tap
Lightly .. from side to side and then the pliers, like JCA said.

OR
or, you could take a small 6" or 8" pipe wrench and give a little twist, this works if you are not saving the nipple

It worked !
All nipples required lots of penetrating oil , some only a tap and twist with the pliers did it,however, a few were ugly. All the old nipples were replaced and proper sized runs installed. Peace0
