jesse the great

I'm re-piping my steam boiler over the summer, and I'm going to install a 2-1/2 gate-valve for bottom blow down purposes and the gate-valve is not full port so I was wondering if the old KING valves were full port. I personally have not seen a king valve so I'm asking. also if the gate-valves ID is like 2" is that going to create an orfice and suck water or wet steam into the main and defeat the purpous of repiping. any insight would be great thanks

Why not use a ball valve?
Either a full port 2 1/2 or a bushed 3".0
