\"mono-flow radiator tee?\"

Thanks for the responses. I still have two questions about my now not so mysterious tee. One, are the tees off the main supposed to be closely spaced, or should they be placed as far apart as the width of the heating unit? Two, if I use a TRV, do I need to install a bypass?

\"mono-flow radiator tee?\"
I've been asked to re-pipe a 1930's vintage country home to get the piping system up into the floor joists to create more head room in the basement. The system looks like a mono-flow system, but there are no mono-flow tees in the basement, not even on the convectors and radiators that do not have the "radiator mono-flow tees". The tees in question are stamped with the name Belknap. They attach directly to the radiator with the supply funnel protruding into the radiator; the other end of the run attaches to a radiator valve and the supply riser, and the branch connects to the return riser. Anyone out there seen one of these things, or more importantly know the proper piping practice.0 -
all the ''parts'' are in the tee..
picture a dip tube in your mind..if its forced circulation you should have no problem raising the pipes..if its gravity, there could be a problem.gwgillplumbingandheating.com

I don't recall seeing any tee's like you have. My thought is that if you are going to repipe the system use mono-flow tees and don't worry about what is there now. Did I miss something? It sounds too easy.

Gerry,
Thanks for the photo. I have never seen a tee like it.
It apears to work on the "same "idea as a mono flo
