Pex tie down

To date I have always used cable ties to secure PEX to the 6x6 mesh on a radiant slab. I have looked into a tool designed for tying rebar and it looks great, but is rather pricey. Does anyone have anything in between? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
John

I use bag ties (6" wire with loops on both ends) and the twisty tool for hooking and spinning them tight. The tool is about 3 bucks. I leave them loose so they don't bind the pex. Any lumberyard should have both and they've got to be way faster than zip ties. If you can find some young lads to work the tool it works better yet.

Hey, those look pretty cool. Do they hold on well? Looks like they have some potential for slipping there.

They don't move. Not all my guys like them, though. Some like the plastic zip ties, some like the e-z clips for various reasons. You can see that the tubing has to be exactly perpendicular to the wire mesh for the clip to fasten properly and you don't always get that.
BTW, thanks to Mark Eatherton for the photo.
