This is for my manufacturer friends

A letter from Don Farrell of Industry Publications. I support this and hope you will too. Judy Garber and I will be riding a bicycle built for two at the event. Imagine that. She can steer. Don's letter:

The oilheating industry is reaching out and helping consumers in need by providing heating and hot water systems and the labor needed to keep these people safe and warm. Oilheat Cares has been formed to do this.

But Oilheat Cares needs your help to raise funds by becoming a sponsor of our exciting new fundraising event to be held this coming spring.

The fundraising event will be a bicycle ride that will take place in Hartford, CT on Monday, May 15th, the day before the NAOSHM show opens. The event has been named “Care to Ride” and will consist of a bicycle ride from the Hartford Expo Center to the offices of the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association in Cromwell, CT and then a return ride to the Expo Center (approximately 35 miles). For those interested in a shorter, more leisurely pace, they can ride from Cromwell to the Expo Center only (15 miles). Each rider will need to offer a minimum pledge in order to participate. And for those who wish to participate, but don’t ride, there will be a fundraising walk at the same time

I am seeking sponsors for Care to Ride. Your sponsorship will allow us to effectively and professionally hold the event and raise funding for this important charity.

Please look over the sponsorship opportunities available and let us know your preference as soon as possible.

    Champion (only four available) $5,000

    Includes:

    · Logo on all ads, posters, flyers, banners and any other promotional materials

    · Specific mention in all press releases

    · Logo on all “T” shirts provided to all riders

    · Logo on custom bicycle jerseys awarded to riders with top pledge amounts

    · Specific mention at the NAOHSM awards dinner

    · Logo on water bottles provided to all riders

    · Specific mention on the “Oil Heat Cares” web site

    · Full Page ad in 2006 NAOHSM convention guide

    Winner $1,500

    Includes:

    · Logo on all ads, posters, flyers and any other promotional materials

    * Name on all “T” shirts provided to all riders

    · Mention on the “Oil Heat Cares” web site

    · Specific mention in the 2006 NAOHSM convention guide

As a sponsor, you will be afforded a great deal of positive publicity, both within our industry, and with the general publict (we are working with the local press in Hartford) along with the knowledge that your sponsorship will help keep a needy family warm and safe in winter.

    Sincerely,

    Don Farrell

    Chairman, Care to Ride

    Retired and loving it.
