hydro air

I currently have an air handler in my attic that's used for air conditioning only. My heat is radiant ceiling. I was thinking of adding Hydro Air to the air handler. Could this be done effectively in an existing system set up for A/C only? I already have an unused zone on my boiler system. Will the Hydro Air work well in a cold attic? Will I need to add antifreeze to the system? Thanks in advance for any advice. -Ed

Yes, it can, but....
You are leaving out a few details. Is the radiant ceiling (hydronic or elec?) not doing it for you? What else is the boiler running? Having another zone doesn't matter if the boiler capacity isn't there
You need to look at the entire system. Heat load for the area with the air handler and the whole place. Duct size, plenum size, hydro coil size, fan speed (probably want to slow it down for heat vs cool), single or two stage stat. Freeze protection is a must. I know I wouldn't want water pipes over my head in the winter. It's not so bad if you are home but if you do happen to get to Costa Rica in Jan you can't think of anything but the damned water lines in the attic. Go ahead, ask me how I know!0
