1 pipe steam- watter hammer

can anyone suggest how to get rid of water hammer in a 1 pipe steam heat system?

Water hammer
It could be a few things, but make sure the radiator is pitched properly. Where the pipe comes out of the gfloor should be lower than the opposite side. The opposite side should have the air vent on it. Also make sure the pipe coming out of the floor is straight.0 -
And if the hammering is not in the radiators
what part of the system is it in? When does the hammering occur- when the boiler first starts up, or after it has run a while, or when it shuts off?0 -
