O.K.
I cleaned the picture up some but I am still confused about where to wire the other side of my relay for the second stage of heat. I'm pretty sure that I need to grab a common from the TACO SR504 Relay (Since that is the heating transformer) but where do I grab that common from?

What to do
What I would do is leave the Taco #504 alone, Jumper R &RC on your t-stat. Use a seperate relay so when you call for heat the contacts close jumping what you now have to the 504. Let the Hydro aire power the t-stat. You will not even need the w2 terminal. Your relay will be a DPDT,...that way you can close the contacts to the 504 and the Hydro air at the Same time.0 -
Just
take it off the hafc101 control..it the same place you're
geting the common for the stat.
It appears that the transformer in the airhandler should have enough va to support your secondard stage relay.0 -
Mike
has a great idea.I was wondering how he was going to keep the 504 from not running all the time.
Remember the o/b terminal is just a switch. Its hot all the
time when it moved either from heat or cooling.0 -
Mike,
Wouldn't we lose the staging capability then? We only want the hydro to run when the t-stat deems necessary. I do like the idea of keeping the t-stat all on one "system" and putting the control panel on the relay. GREAT IDEA!0 -

Yea Jim...
I didn't see what you were doing until I saw your other post. But you can just add another relay and energise 1 for w1 and the other for w2. Still using the hydroair for your power source.0
