I'm sick of it. Lots of us think that it's silly to waste millions of dollars and years of name recognition by dropping "Wirsbo". But hey, it's your company- you can do what you want. And the "from Wiersbo to wierder" ad in the trade mag kinda made me smile. Then the first wave of marketing hit my door telling the changes that would be forthcoming with the new name. I told my wife exactly what would be inside. NOTHING. I guessed it, but I had to admit the 120 or so numbers with nothing behind them was a nice touch. NOW wave two just landed in our mailbox and it's a whole blank notebook with the same cover telling how many changes we'll see. Guess what guys? WE ALREADY KNOW WHO YOU ARE. If you want to do some marketing, give your faithful contractors a little discount or work on making your web-site a little more user friendly. How much does this media blitzkrieg cost? Is this the same company who doesn't use their snowmelt in Apple Valley Minnesota because it costs too much to operate? That's what I was told the last time I was there. Inside were lovely photos of tubing in the parking lot, but outside the snow was pushed into big piles. It's a huge snowmelt, and I believe they said it cost some $50K a year to operate at that time. So who cares? It's a marketing tax write-off for a multi-national, multi billion dollar corporation. And I'm supposed to market it and sell it to the rest of the world, even though they won't justify using it themselves.
LASTLY, I don't know if it's a joke or what, but look at the return address of your empty blue notebook when it gets to your house. They spelled it UPONER, not uponor.
If you want to impress us with the leadership of this company, you might start by a little proof-reading and wiser use of the marketing budget that your installers ultimately pay for.
A true and faithful Uponor Wirsbo man,
Kevin
