The Incredible Mr. Limpet
Mr. Knotts also is synonymous with the human who became a fish and played a pivotal role in winning WWII.
He will be missed.0 -
What was the ghost one
where they could'nt get the blood off the keyboards ? " And they even used BonAmi "
He was a very funny guy.
How many cops in small towns got called Barney Fife ? I knew we had at least three or four.

Don Knotts
One reason I enjoy the wall so much is that I often find people who enjoy the same things that I do...........Ahhhhh my old favorite episode where the goat ate the dynamite......Barney you will be missed..0 -
He was the best
NIP IT!
NIP IT IN THE BUD!
Yes, Barney Fife WAS the best. Funny, we were just in Weeki Wachee this week and the tour guide said that the premier of "The Incredible Mr. Limpett" took place at the park. A giant screen was set up in the river for the event. Very cool.
I will miss him.0 -
I don't think he ever made a non-family movie
i remember as a kid being glued to the tv watching THE RELUCTANT ASTRONOT man that movie made me laugh. The apple dumpling gang with Tim Conway and of couse who could forget the racey Mr Peacock. i can just see him in that hat with the 3' long peacock feather in it. my kids still watch the incredible Mr Limpet on VHS...He was a fine actor.Thank you Mr Knotts for all the fun memorys...David

The Ghost...
and Mr. Chicken.
"Atta boy, Luther!"
"The microphone must be a Democrat."
How many times did he lock himself in the jail cell?
The man was brilliant! Godspeed, Barney!

I often thought
he and Imogene Coco should have gotten married. They seemed like they'd have been a match made in heaven, which - come to think of it - is now a reality.

Maybe the thought
of them having a child kept the cosmic force from allowing that to happen.

Naaa
He shoulda married Thelma Lou. They coulda had the reception at Marinelli's, where the pounded steak special was only $.99. (And they used real checkered tablecloths.)0 -
I remember Barney
carried a tape measure so he could measure parked cars to make sure they were'nt too far from the curb. He would slap his thigh and mutter darn or something when they were close enough and he couldnt write a ticket. Andy Griffith was the perfect straight man for him. Every talk preceded by the phrase. "Now Barn....." Class act RIP big guy. WW

one bullet
Don grew up here in the West Virginia hills and most people don't realize that the one bullet rule was not for Barneys protection. It's because one bullet was all a country boy needed. Sorely missed by a fellow Mountaineer! We need to beat Pitt tonight in honor of Barney0 -
What about Juanita?
He used to sing to Juanita, the waitress at the diner, over the phone. And Andy would invariably walk in right in the middle...
Gotta check Tivo -- we record all of Andy's stuff. My daughter's hooked on it!0 -
Funniest episodes
Were the ones with Barney and Floyd. Even after seeing them dozens of times I still laugh, especially when Barney deputized Floyd and made him "#2".
Best episode of all? My three favorites were: "Man in a Hurry," "Sermon for the Day," and "Opie the Birdman."0 -
I second that, LETS GO.... Mountaineers!!!
Off to the game.

I loved the one where Barney delivered the icecream to Thelma Lou's house:
"What kind of icecream did you bring me Barney?"
"West Indian Licorice Mocha Delight."
How was it that Thelma Lou worked in an offie lived in a house and Barney worked for the county and lived a single room in Mrs. Mendlebrights boarrding house?
And of course..."Oh Bernie, you're a scream!"0 -
Chester and McCloud have joined them.....
