What an emotional day. The "kids" were up for 24-hrs+ on their way home from China. We rushed to West Chester to get Mike when his last class ended and then drove like a banshee to Harrisburg to meet their arrival. Been on cloud nine ever since!

First lesson for Lily - Don't eat at that restaurant or you'll get a belly like Pop-Pop's!

    Couldn't open the pic,

but I can just imagine what it was like. Aren't GrandPah & GrandDad lovely words to hear.

I'm very happy for you and the whole family, Dave.

Twitterpated (from Owl,in Bambi) is my 8 yr old's favourite word, followed by scrumdiddleyumptious, and delirious instead of delicious :0)

Not much sleep for you this weekend.

Take care of the lovely gift.

    Gandad Brian.

Right-Click to download is how I did it.

It worked and is worth it, every pixel. Adorable!

the picture Dave posted, here it is in .jpg format. MSIE apparently won't let some of us view .tiff format pictures for some reason. Congrats to you and your family GrandPAH! I'm looking forward to being a grandparent in early August.

    Thanks Glenn

Look who's eyes she's staring into.

I didn't get to meet my first daughter until she was 33, it was every bit as beautiful.

I am very, very happy for you guys (tears).

    Brian.

    Congrats Dave

My brother adopted a little one from Thailand and sis and husband traveled to China for theirs. Neither of the little gals really "fit" in with a clan of 6'+ Dutchmen but it soon became apparent that they belong just as much as all the rest of the kids.

I look at both of them and marvel at the providence that brought those two particular kids to our extended family. I have to wonder why out of all the millions of orphans those two made the 12,000 mile trip to live with us. May God bless you and yours!

    Sigh...

They say that being a GrandPAH is even better than being a PAH! As a freshly minted PA (11 months) the feeling I get when my boy looks at me in the way that Lily is looking at you is overwhelming and indescribable. As a GrandPAH you must be in a state of ecstasy!

Congratulations to you and the whole family. It will be a very warm winter for all of you!

    Heart melt-down!

How to get GrandPAH to act like a child while making blubbering noises? Let him sit on the floor next to his grandaughter, who at 10-months + two days decided last night to reach out for that first real acceptance/contact with her Pop-Pop. My heart melted like butter on a hot summer's day(G).

She's had quite the upheaval in her little world. All but ten months in an orphanage with but one caregiver for ten lasses. Lily is just beginning to realise the bottle spied with formula is hers and hers alone. Think of what it's be like to be seated with ten of your pals (imagine it was Milne, HB and others!) and the waitress is coming your way with just one bottle of beer & you'll understand why she clamored for her formula once spying it!

With so much commotion and bonding to be done, along with the lack of individual attention in the orphanage, we've felt it best to let her set the pace for when she's ready & last night was my turn. It was a positively giddy moment(G).

    Oh, man.....

You know how to write from the heart, GrandPAH.

Doing it right and at her pace, what a thoughtful guy you are. The past ten months will rapidly fade into subliminal memory for her as she soaks up all the love you are giving her.

Lucky young lady, lucky GrandPAH and family. Enjoy!

give Lily a gift for life

My wife and I have hand written letters to each of our grands sharing tearfully at times what they mean to us. Often the words come with tears at the blessing God has given us to share.

How joyfull you must feel Pop Pop share those thaughts they will last a lifetime.

Hugs from us to you Dave
