Balanced bypass??

Are you pumping towards that Exp. tank? I am probably incorrect, but sure looks that way. Pipping looks good.

P.S. no disrespect intended.

Just finished our boiler swap and I think we now have it balanced. The supply off boiler is up over 140° within 5 mins. and the mix temp is about 120° for the gravity comversion. But the return NEVER gets over 105° no matter how I set the bypass. I don't think it's a problem as the boiler easily gets to 160° and hits high limit. Here are some pics, the gas union has since been moved (2am when we finished the gas line).

Thanks, I couldn't see the galv. making any difference to the install since the original pipes are 60 years without ANY sign of rust inside or out.

    may i make a suggestion? Taco I series S.

This is a modulating setpoint control valve.

it could be tapped into the location you have provided as clean out plugs on the return and supply headers.

the sensor though i would locate afew inches below your Dummy by pass. then it would modulate the return temps only as much as needed to help that "valve".

In the event that it is sufficent in and of itself, i would do away with the dummy by pass though as there isnt much Control over its behaviour.
