Ever since being installed 2 years ago my V84 Burnham boiler with a Beckett burner has started with a loud bang then boiler runs normal. It sound as though it has an excessive amount of fuel in the chamber and ignites with a loud bang. Anyone know why? Thanks in advance for all the help.

    big bang ?

do your self a favor and look at "fina a pro" on the left and spend the $$$ to have your bangs cut. Hard ignition is no place to start fooling around trying DIY. Ya could loose your eye brows!

    was it

Was the boiler set up properly to start? Has it been serviced since the install? If so did the tech inidicate any issues?

What did the new boiler replace?

If you replaced a old 1725 burner w/new 3450 w/ delay valves, post/pre purge it will sound very diffrent.I have installed many Burnhams and found that some were loud on start up no matter what we did.(Yes we use all the proper spec's and Pro125 tester)but just couldn't get a good lite off. We would solve it by installing a diffrent burner,a Carlin EZPro. These for some reason will be about 75% better in the loud dept on lite off and during the run cycle, even with-out a noise cover.
