A friend of mine is getting married to a guy she met in England. He calls himself a pipefitter. His job titles were: (1) Subsea Mechanical Engineer (in which he built, installed, and maintained subsea connectors for offshore well heads for global markets, etc.); and (2) Senior Weapons Commissioning Engineer/Supervisor (for Vickers for 21 years). Any thoughts on how to transfer these qualifications to the US? I mean, unless your a PEng your probably not supervising installations of nuclear engines in Submarines are you? His qualifications were gained through apprenticeship. His location will be in Birmingham Alabama.

On checking, there is a shipyard in Mobile, Alabama, Atlantic marine.

    Old Mobile Bay ....

Isn't that still on the map? Maybe Katrina did more damage than I thought..
I believe they still build quite a few shrimp boats down there. They also get lots of work from boatbuilders in the Northeast now, as the labor is quite a bit less down that way. Chris
