Jim, how about instead of the evils of gambling we think of the evils of greed? I think it more disturbing that his partner is a Trooper.

    Too Bad

I met Rick Tocchet many years ago when he was young NHLer, he was a gentleman and my buddies good friend, I hope it's not true, if it is, it's just so sad to again have someone with so much promise fall to the evils of gambling. This is why I'll never play the lottery , it just prays on people's weakness. What a waste.

Corruption is an ever-present element in every facet

of society - hockey included. What also looks very bad is Gretsky's wife betting....against his team? Possibly, who can trust her now. She has humiliated his good name. Mad Dog

    Comment from Hockeytown

Having grown up in the mecca of hockey I feel qualified to make a quick comment. This gambling problem exists in all sports. Period. Critics who think this latest revelation will damage hockey are full of it. The sport is and always will be a "regional" sport at best and will not capture a big audience. The few that watch it and follow it are not going to turn off their TV sets because of a gambling problem. Damage hockey? Get real -- it will probably add interest.
