Yes I too have installed lots of those boilers.

I have recently put in different condensing boilers. Munchkin one of them. Been running for whole heating system no problem.it is smaller and lighter.
pretty quiet. they say u don't need seperate boiler pump for for condensing boilers, but fact is always better to prevent short cycling.

    Munchkin boilers

I am a contractor looking for input as to why I should install a Munchkin boiler. I have installed Weil-Mclain for years along with a few Lochinvar and Veissmann. I would love to here the pros and cons from fellow wetheads.

    I'm a believer

We've installed one. It gave three years of trouble free service until recently. A stopped up condensate line caused it to trip out on flame failure. This problem was external to the boiler so the unit itself has given no trouble whatsoever. The customer is tickled pink with its performance and fuel savings. The rep in our area has been available to answer any questions regarding the installation. I suppose he would be there for us as well regarding service if it ever becomes an issue. Despite a handful of bashers, in my opinion it is a solid boiler with solid factory support. It cut fuel consumption by 30% and has more than recovered the additional expense over a conventional system. At around 100 pounds, my back likes it for a totally different reason.

    Take Care,

    Larry

I'm not so sure about a heat exchanger that is held together with high-temp silicone and a strap
