Triangle Tube Prestige

whereas the fire side passes through those tubes and the water surrounds them? That, of course explains the low pressure drop.
If so, this seems to be a departure from the other brands. Is it a better approch than fire inside the circular stainless steel coil ala Munchkin and many others?
In the latter case I can see and get to the byproducts (coffee grounds, mouse turds) left behing by dirty combustion air or fuel, or combination of. Where do these by products end up with this design, and how are they cleaned from inside those funky tubes?
Someone send me a demo unit :)
Where did I put the password to my time machine. We need a voice from 2010 to answer that question.

Triangle Tube Prestige
Could those of you who have installed these boilers, so far
please add to this post and let everyone know how the units have been running, and pros and cons, so far. Thanks!

no one? No Input at all?
nothing nada zilch zero?0 -
prestige
have installed 4 unts over the past 12 months and am currently installing 3 more along with the smart 80 indirect,so far no problems east to install and progam0 -
I like mine
Hi Ross,
I looked at many of the new condensing units before I purchased it and I am quite pleased. It's really compact, the controls are easy to learn and use, built in pump (inside of the cabinet, unlike the GB 142), built in ODR, the price is quite nice considering what you get and to top it off, no problems.... unlike some of the other coveted boilers that wallies seem to love... but I won't name names. It's only been up and running since Nov 05 but so far, like clockwork. And did I mention quiet? Yea, it's quiet. What else can I tell you....seems to be a well made unit.0 -
Prestige
I reall liked the layout of the boiler, nice & clean when I saw them on display at the AHR Expo in Chicago. I talked with the reps for quite some time. Unfortunately, being here in Michigan, I have to wait until they have the ASME "H" stamp, before I can install them.0 -
I am not asumeing anything but does it use any of the same parts as the munchkin? they are made by the same parent corporation (HTP) just curious0 -
nope
I dont think so. Different company and components. Ignition module is same as the W-M Ultra, burner looks similiar also.0 -
Prestige
The Prestige is made by Triangle Tube, not HTP. We have 15+ installed with zero problems. They are quiet, efficient and reliable. I like the welded SS heat exchanger and low pressure drop. Try it, you'll like it. -DF

Have had great luck with mine too
Put 3 in this fall and no problems. They take alot less time to start up than typical gas atmospheric units....no pilots to adjust, etc. I also like the heat exchanger design, the simple control setup, and general straight forward layout. I am making them regular part of my lineup as a midgrade (better) boiler.

prestige contruction
dan how do you like the male adapters brazed onto the copper stubs on bottom
wouldnt copper stubs be better
i didnt like having to solder fa to thread and dope onto their
ma stuck up tight under the unit?0 -
Adapters
Since we use Pro-Press, it hasn't been an issue. I would like to see the stubs secured better, though. Use a back up wrench! -DF

Have only one in
so far. I like it so far too. No problems went in easy. Easier to put connectors on before you hang the boiler. WW

And
Triangle Tube is actually ACV based in Belgium. They have some very interesting products. I wish we weren't given such a small selection when European companies bring their products over here.
Is the heat exchanger 100% welded? They always show the tubes separate from the shell. Do they weld them in? I have yet to see a Prestige, but they look good in the literature. But obviously lots of things that have become problems in the past looked good in the literature. ;-)

those look like come really nice tubing bends. i would think the soft copper would be more fogiving if you have the patience to install it that way.0 -
Thanks!
Thanks everyone for your input on these boilers. Always good to talk to someone who has installed & serviced new equipment first, before recommending it. Thanks again!

PRESTIGE SOLO
The heat exchanger is all welded. The only gasket is where the burner flange bolts to the heat exchanger (save for a few sensors). As for cleaning (if this ever needs to be done) you can remove the top panels, remove the burner/flange and hose out the burner tubes. One benefit of this design is soot, mouse turds etc.... are blown (by the burner) and washed down (by the condensate) and out of the heat exchanger continuosly.0 -

Is it soft copper or..
is it rigid copper done with a Curvo?0 -
copper
its ridgid copper done with the rems curvo, does up to 1 1/4, nice tool takes a little practice though saves some time when using it along with press fittings. just finished another prestige install today with the smart 80 will post some pic later forgot camera. i like the prestige wish the male fittings extended down past bottom of unit though make it alittle easier to get back up wrench on, i use 1" dielectrics0 -
i also use ppress but that ma doesnt help anybody -just more labor and material0
