Hot water/steam radiator
Steamhead (in transit)

you may need to change the bushing where the steam pipe will connect.
The air vent should go on the opposite side from the steam supply. You'll find a place to drill and tap a 1/8" pipe thread hole anywhere from 1/3 to 2/3 up the side of the radiator. If you install the vent at the very top, steam will not fill the entire radiator.

Can i use a hot water radiator for my single pipe steam system?0 -
Possibly
Assuming the capacity issue is taken care of, there has to be a tapping for the vent and a plug for the opposite side -of course!
With one-pipe steam the vent tapping is opposite the steam valve side and usually about halfway down. I have seen small tube hot water boilers so installed with the steam vent in the manual vent tapping near the top but the vent stuck up above the top of the radiator like a figurhead on a battleship.
Browse the site for other FAQ's and much more detail. The above is just what I have seen done before.0 -
even though i plug one side, isnt the opening on the other end too small ?0 -
Both main fluid tappings should be the same.
The main tappings are usually between 1.25 and 1.5 inch FPT and the vent 1/8" FPT.0 -
One pipe steam with hydronic loop
Gentleman,
I am thinking so long as feed and return tappings on boiler is below steam line fair game for hydronic system no problem. as always air elimination is critical.
