Used CI Radiators

Putnam Connecticut, thats up in the NE corner. I believe there are 8?? of various sizes, they seem to be in good working condion, the valves and vents are mostly attached.
I'll try and post a picture. They are all on the 2nd and 3rd floors of my house and are heavy enough that a good dolly will be needed to move them down. The biggest are probably in the 250+ pound range (3 column by 9 sections)
I think the pic shows the biggest one. most are 2 column by 7 or so sections

  • Where is the best place to find used CI radiators?

E-Bay is not yeilding great results right now. It's too bad my customer threw the old ones in the dumpster and now has to replace them!! People with more money than brains.... I gotta go catch the GC before he chucks all the old copper fin tube baseboard. I need the scrap money to pay for gas.

makes new ones especially in the radiant, baseboard and small-tube designs (my personal favorites). They also make a more architectural line of taller column types.

There is a place near me here in Somerville, MA (I forget the name but is mentioned in Dan's books) where they have gobs of them, tested and rated. Never bought from him but good to know they exist.

    Where are you located?

  • Where are you in CT and what do you have size wise?

How many do you have for the takin'?
  • Thanks for the offer!!

Those look great, but they would take more work than I want to put into them to change them to hydronic use. If I were you, I would put them on eBay...they would fetch a pretty penny, especially since they are ornate. I strongly recommend not chuckin' them!!! Good luck, too bad I don't live closer. Thanks again, for the offer!!
  • Jay, unless the sections of those rads

have push-nipples connecting them at the top as well as the bottom, they won't work for hot-water.

Why are you taking them out, anyway?
