Manifold below radiant floor

Haven't run into this before... I have a radiant job which will be installed on the main floor (basement underneath). The problem is I can't find a suitable location on the main floor to mount the manifolds. The only available locations would end up being inconvenient and/or unsightly.
Would I be looking for trouble if I place the manifolds in the basement (about 18 inches below the radiant tubing)? I would think that air elimination might be a nightmare.... any advice?

Not a problem.
I have a radiant second floor bathroom with the manifold in the basement. Purging was not a problem, just one circuit at a time. Works great!0
