Absolutely sick

I feel sorry for your loss. But please, you don't know feeling sick until you have your van and garage broken into while you sleep in the comfort of your own home. Only to awake and find $10,000 worth of tools missing . Some which I had since I was a teen and some given to me from my dad. All of my tools were paid for , none stolen, most were purchased new and all of best quality. Now I find it hard to give a .... about tools. I do the best I can with what was left.

I can't believe what I did!
Lost a bunch of tools and fittings from the back of my truck this morning after I forgot to close the tail-gate.
I retraced my steps TWICE and there is no trace of anything.
No real big ticket items except for my Kitec crimping tool and a Watts/Radiant crimping tool.
I am sick about it.

I feel for you, Mark!
That hurts- and the worst part is, it hurts more when you beat yourself up!
Any ID? Any way the orphaned tools might find their way home?
Ouch. Sorry, friend.0 -
OH boy.....

flat tire
Dear Mark,
I have taken down your e-mail and business address so that I may send you our insurance companys telephone number. My husband and I hit your tools with our Toyota and now have extensive damage to our tires and front end.
Maybe next time you'll be more carefull young man.

Darn it, Betty!
I told you NOT to get the insurance company involved! Now we'll have to tell them the WHOLE story! We'll never be able to show our faces in town again!

A few years back I finished up a service call late in the afternoon (it was dark out). The maintenance people were anxious to get me out of there so they could go home. I went out to my truck to fill out a service report and hung my tool pouch on the passenger side mirror while I was writing (and they were waiting to sign it)
You can guess the rest. I sure was suprised when I got to my first call the next day and opened my truck looking for my tools and they were gone!
Took me a minuite or two to realize what I had done!

I did that once and lost my oxy-acetylene torch. D'oh! WW0 -
Replace them before the 30th
and you can take the tax deduction.
I am sure some of the tools were worn out anyways.

Oh Boy!
Where do I start? Back in the welding rig days our truck had a 2x10 slid down in some brackets for a tailgate. Magnetic drill press at a interstate construction zone when the rear dualie hit a temporary median, entire gangbox over some railroad tracks, oxy and acetylene tanks (capped big guys) from a side rack I forgot to bracket tight, cordless drill flew out and smashed to pieces (so thats how the batteries are made!!) when a utility cabinet door opened on a bumpy stretch, and.....
Thank goodness I have a van now!

Well Well Well
So this is where I have to find out about our company tools being lost! What's up with that? Lay off the scotch next time. Make sure your pay reflects the loss of company property!!!! I am typing up your letter of counseling right now for you to sign and fax back to me. This is going on your permanent record!!! Man, Good help is hard to find!!!!!

Try
and offer a reward for the "safe" return of the goods. Stranger things have happen.0 -
After carful examination
of all the facts.........it has been determined that all fault lays completely at the feet of my helper.
Granted, he was not even in the same county when this all took place but that is beside the point.
Somehow, he willed me to leave the tailgate down so I blame him.
You hired him so you share some fault in this as well. I hope you're satisfied!
Miss you bud!

I have a tape measure and a crescent wrench you can borrow...0 -
Maybe it's a sign
that it is time to put the tools down. Retire, kick back, fish, hunt, etc.
Actually I've done the same thing. Lost some classic old tools that were my dad's
hot rod

Wasn't the tools
it was the sick feeling I got for being so absent minded.
When I think of what I could have lost, ha, this was small potatoes.

It's not fair
That is from a private collection. Ah, the summer of love, me & Gary and a dog named Boo, living happily in the Buderus parking lot until they chased us away.
BUT, the memories will last a lifetime...
*Darin sent me your Senior picture0 -

Let me help you
You can trust me...0 -
At least....
You didn't lose your whole vehicle like I did. Does the insurance still cover it if they find the keys in the ignition switch? I didn't think so. Thank goodness for LoJack...They got most of my tools, but I got the vehicle back.
I once lost a whole boiler out of the back of an old utility bed truck. Tow truck driver named Tiny picked it up and put it on the tailgate of his tow truck...by himself.
When we went to retrieve it from him, I had to pay him $100.00 CASH for the privelidge of watching him pick it up and transfer it back into the back of my truck.
It was worth it.
Chin up, it could have been worse, I'm sure!
