Hot water heating with a gas boiler

I seriously doubt that any 60-gallon indirect/boiler combination could keep up with the potential load of 20+ people and 2 laundry rooms. Of course your piping itself might not be able to keep up with five bathrooms in simultaneous use either...

A 60-gallon indirect should not however have any problem with your normal load unless your tub is really big...

You honestly might be in a situation where a 2nd stand-alone water heater could be put to good use when the family is visiting. Of course you'd have to turn it on in time and possible operate some valves, but not much of an inconvenience.

Considering this is obviously a large home recirculation for the DHW is likely a very good idea.

Hot water heating with Gas Boiler

ASked the question yesterday but I am so lame I can't find it to look for answers. We need help, please. We have a burnham boiler and are remodeling. Putting radiators in the basement and wisbro floor heat in first floor. We need to figure out what to do for hot water. Usually there are just the two of us here (kitchen, laundry, steam shower, tub). BUT, several times a year we are visited by our five children, their spouses, and our 11 and still counting grandchildren. Then all five baths are put to use as are two separate laundry rooms. Heating contractor is recommending a 60 gallon stainless steel tank for indirect hot water heat ($1900--yikes). Not sure if this is best or just separate gas HW heaters. Should we use a recirculation line? Any other suggestions? Also, one room in the basement is getting the Wisbro heat, can we glue this down to the concrete floor? THANKS!

    What

brand of Indirect DHW tank is your contractor proposing to use? Any additional controls for prioritization?

Not that we usually talk price here but that seems pretty low to me...

If you are asking whther or not the quik trac can be glued down to concrete the answer is definately no. the glue will heat up and shift the floor around causing some problems. you will need to either nail down a subfloor then staple them down, or float both the panels and the hardwood or float the panels and put a rug over them.

Safe store I think. You think $1900 for just a storage tank and pump is good? Ok Sounds like we just going to have problems with our hot water system. Still don't know if it is best to run something off of the boiler or just use multiple Gas hot water heaters.
