Slab thermostats

i find the tekmar stats to be the most solid i've come across, not cheap at all, just my opinion though. lately however we've been using Heatlinks new Statlink basic electronic thermostats , they accept a slab sensor and are an economical choice for people with many radiant micro-zones.

    Slab thermostats

Just wondering what slab thermostats you guys are using. I ordered a Tekmar D508 and a D079 slab sensor. The stat is about 2 inches square and looks really cheap. I have used Tekmar controls a lot and think they work great.I'm not questioning the function of the thermostat, my customer just doesn't like the way it looks and I have to agree with her.

    that tekmar stat

is in dire need of an "American-ized" update. it is very hard to get all the 6 wires into the enclosure, especially with solid t-stat wire.

I prefer to mount them over a rough in box, but you need the optional backing plate, pretty expensive and it barely covers the box.

I'd like to see it in a traditional 2X4 size with a backing plate that has the wiring connections, instead of balancing it in your hand and trying to wire it.

I really like the features and performance, very customer friendly. I buy them under the Wirsbo name, less $$ in my area.

    2X2

Good things come in small packages. The wiring is a bear but there's no arguing about the functionality.

    What thermostat doesn't?

I think it's one of the nicer ones I've seen, personally. I'd be curious what others think are 'snazzy' looking?
