I'd like to know what it cost him to have the driveway melted, not the system cost, just the running cost? snowblowers aren;t cheap either!

It's supposed to be 72 degrees here in New York today

Yesterday, the forsythia in our yard bloomed. What a year!
    Retired and loving it.

    Jolly Good, Fellow~!
  • But wait.....there's more!

Tonight will bring heavy rains along with 50-60 mph winds. Then on Sunday a high of 42°F with possible snow showers!

    sometimes

....you gotta love global warming!-just kidding.
  • in the midwest

We got our first heavy snowstorm of the season... 6 " of whitestuff and 5 more inches with wind... Is Scott out there barefeet, with robe and coffee in his hand while checking out his new snowmelting system?
  • Midwest weather

Sounds like you folks faired pretty well compared to other areas. I just got off the phone with a gentleman in Columbia, Missouri who just managed to crawl to work through 15" of snow. Us folks here back east would definitely appreciate it if you kept that stuff out there thank you!

And here in Cape Girardeau, MO (a bit less than 200 air miles from Columbia, MO) just a few flakes of snow this morning after a day and night of rain. An ice storm was originally predicted but the below-freezing weather stayed north and west of us until the precipitation had moved north and east towards Chicago.

High temp today looks like it will be 33° compared to highs in the 60s for nearly the entire past week.

    Snowmelt

A snowmelt I installed over the summer had it's first real test last night and today northwest of Chicago. The freezing rain started about 10PM and he sat up watching his driveway untill 1AM. I imagined him bouncing out of bed like Christmas morning and checking the driveway.

Sure enough, the first phone call of the day was from him, telling me how awesome the Tekmar 665 and Ultra boiler were. I think he really wanted me there to crack a beer with him at 7AM.

I think I'll call him to take some pictures and I'll post them along with the installation pics.

    11.8\"

I just got off the phone with him. He got 11.8" officially. He's gonna take some pics and e-mail to me. I told him to get the neighbors in the background shoveling their driveways.

Better cover that thing up Dan

White stuff is headed your way.

It was in the mid 60's here Wednesday. yesterday it cooled off (30's) and today we got buried. About 9" on the ground but it looks as though it's about done. The wind will now switch to the N/NW and the lake effect will bomb us every day for the next week if things are normal. (Forsythia blossoms in December are definitely NOT normal)

    Roundup

I am headed out to round up the Holiday decorations-mine and the neighbors. Then off to the hardware store for new numbers for my house. I think the wind shifted it two houses west last night.
