    just thinking out loud...

would powder coating the inside and outside of black steel pipe stand up to:
    steam supply
    steam return
hot water system near boiler piping
how about the coatings Victaulic and Anvil use on their fittings?

    What about.....

    Bedliner material?

They started using it in some industry where they pump aggregate or some such grit through pipes. The someone sprayed the bed of their pickiup and a new product was born.

Sure, you'd have to start with 3 inch to get 2 inch, but hey, you only have to do it once, right?

I'm thinking if you have your system operating the way it should, and in a proper enviroment the pipe will out last you. Only saying this if the coating is to offer the pipe protection from the elements inside and out.

    Vic couplings

Being a union fitter, Vic and the rest do last a long time near almost any enviorment. But if the paint gets scracted or in salt air they rust like the dikkens. nothing special about em, except for the corrosion resist ones, and frequently the painters use a two part epoxy after everyone is gone that seems to hold up. Everyone seems to run to stainless if they want it to last, but in a home might end up costing more than the home!SS Vic couplings are a special order and Iv heard they cost about 250.00 per 3" 325 as example.

They don't use bedliner but they do use cement lined ductile at the sand and mining operations up here. 10' section of 3" weighs about 275 pounds.
