Zone keeps getting hot, but circulator isn't running

I recently had the flow control valve for my top-floor zone replaced (it was rattling loudly). Now, even if we shut off the circulator for that zone (at the thermostat), the pipes stay hot and the space continues to heat (came back from a 4-day trip and the temp was 80 degrees). I've confirmed that the circulator isn't spinning, and that the pipes themselves stay hot anyway (by feeling them).
I think I need to adjust the valve, but I don't know how. Googling didn't turn up anything useful that I could make out. Can anyone help out? Thanks!

What brand?
In any event, there should be a screw adjustmant on the top of the valve. It should be all the way in.
If it is a spring check, then something is holding it open.
