Varible speed circ

The Circulator should be sized for the load. Calculate what the load is to determine flow rate, and then you can calculate the system pressure drop based on the flow rate required to satisfy the load. The equation is load/ delta T X 500 = GPM.

Varible speed circ.
Will a varible speed circ help my situation on a munchkin. Can I install one on my primary circuit. The boiler is a 140M.Any recommendations as to what brand and size to use. I have outdoor reset.0 -
What is your situation? You will need to post pictures of the near boiler piping. NO idea what to tell you without more boiler / system information. Sizes, run lengths, emitters, present circs, piping type, etc...

Ummmmm
What got you to thinking about a variable speed circ in the first place? Are you having a specific problem that got you pondering this? Don't be bashful.
The Munchkin must be piped primary/secondary and it needs a pretty constant flow through it to be happy. Any variable spped circ that I know of works on pressure differential. What you need with a low mass boiler like most M/C boilers are, is a circ that would vary with temp ala Viessmann. Ideally, a circ like that should be integrated into the burner control and logic to be effective.

Nothing really just curious if a variable speed circ would help the situation on my boiler system. After reading your reply got to thinking that yes I do need x amount of flow to keep the munchkin happy. If it would help I would spend the money on the varible speed circ. Is there any modifications to allow such a circ to work.0 -
Circ pump
In the installation manual it tells you what sze circ. you need for the boiler. I believe that for the 140m it is a Taco 0010, not sure about Grufros #.0 -
