Improve EPU-CH with SPC-Temp (digispan)???

We are installing a Heat Timer EPU-CH in a four story building heated by a 2-pipe vapor system. In an attempt to improve the Heat-Timer's efficieny it has been suggested that wiring a SPC digispan sensor to the BB circuit of the EPU-CH would keep the Heat-Timer from running for heat if the SPC temp has been reached?
Has anyone had good results with the addition of the SPC?
Any feedback is much appreciated.
