standing on the shoulders of giants

Thanks Steve. Inevitably, this will come up with some of our Munchkin and Peerless Pinnacle installs. This one is etched in my mind as a "Fix" and something to clean when we service the boiler.

    Weez

While I was sitting there watching the thing run like a bandit, I was thinking along the same lines. A nice big copper gasket behind the burner would provide gobs of contact area rather than relying on 4 screws. Draw it up and patent it my man.

EDIT: The problem with that is the heat transfer through the gasket to the outer "face" of the combustion chamber. I think it would probably melt the plastic case on the Munchie.

Grounding problems always seem to show up with flame rods. Sounds simple but finding and fixing the problem can drive you nuts.

Good job Steve, I'm glad you could find something definative.

    Credit where credit is due

Read the whole thread guys. Lot's of good ideas were floated by a number of different people. Chuck e-mailed suggestions to me and tried mightily to make phone contact with me. All I did was take these thoughts and ideas and put 2 & 2 together.

Thanks to all who helped me to unravel this can of worms.
