Magazine Cover Shot
Hi Everyone,
Oh my God, I can't believe it!!
PHC News made me contractor of the year. I want to thank John Mesenbrink, the chief editor, who wrote a really great story about our company. This came totally out of the blue. I didn't expect it, nor did I enter anything. They don't have a dinner so I am doing my acceptance speech here on the wall.
Check out the attached magazine cover shot and pdf of the article itself.
I am really really excited!! To be so honored!
Since 1990 we at JR's Plumbing & Heating LLC have worked very hard to be the best we can be. It has always been a team effort. I never could have done it without help from many, many different people.
I first want to thank my parents for years of support and help. Second I want to thank Fred Cuttitta who is our chief installer. Without his quality craftsmanship we never would have won anything. Third to thank would be Mike Miller from Tekmar controls. I have spent many days picking a part his brain over the phone through tech support. He also inspired me to do my own CAD drawings. He gave me some Visio drawings and stencils to learn from. Fourth would have to be Dan Holohan and all of the wallies. I have learned so much here over the years. Dan's pumping away book opened my eyes to how hydronics actually worked and might be the most influencual hydronics book I every read. Fifth would be everyone at IACT (Inventors Asc of Connecticut). They opened my mind to the world of inventing. Sixth would be Larry Drake, John Sigenthaller, Mark Etherton and everyone at the RPA . Again I learned so much from everyone there. Larry has given me a lot of valuable advice over the years. The radiant basic and presision course taught by John Sigenthaller are the bible's for radiant heating. Eighth would be Jim Davis, Jim was the first one to teach me how combustion analysis really works. Sure I have taken class's on combustion from others but Jim taught me things that none of the others knew. Lots and lots of others have helped us over the years too. To many to mention here and I would also like to thank them. I would like to thank the makers of the products we install most and their tech support. Wirsbo, Taco, Tekmar, Buderus, Burnham, Honeywell, Heat Transfer Products, Radiant Engineering, Danfoss and Thermo 2000. Of course I can't forget to mention and thank PJ Heydt, our new apprentice. He has a lot of potential, works hard and learns every day. I am sure he will be making his own mark in our industry very soon.
Thanks a bunch everyone!

You've come a long way baby...
to get where you got to today. You've had to step on a few toes, and crunch a few eggs, but that's life.
I remember when you first started posting as a newby to the field. Wow, what a difference.
You're a good man JR...
Hang in there and keep up the good work.

John,
The editor called me one day. He said he saw my website, and we talked for a bit. He had heard about the RPA awards that we won recently. I told him about some of the projects we were working on. I told him about the Energy Efficiency and Exquisite Heat projects. His mind seemed to be made up before he called me though.

Taco Products........
John,
Good to see the president of a major manufacturer visting the wall as often as you do. I think that is great! It shows that you are in touch with the industry. That is important to me.
If you look at the cover of the magazine, the Taco Logo shows up plenty clear on one of the relay controls. The project also has a lot of Taco pumps. Taco is my favorite pump company and has been for years.
