Hi, Does anybody know if I live the main valves on each radiator that does get hot half close that will help the other ones that don't get hot to get hot and more steam? This is a one pipe steam heat system. Thank you!

    WILL NOT HELP!

Radiator valves on one-pipe steam systems MUST be used either fully open or fully closed!!!

With a one-pipe system, steam is flowing into the radiator via the valve, but condensed steam (water) has to flow back out the valve in the opposite direction. If the valve is only partly open the water will back up into the radiator, it will eventually start spitting water out the vent and you'll probably get the hammers from hell as well...

The key to balance with one-pipe steam is in the venting of air. If this is a system in your home I'd really suggest that you buy Dan Holohan's books (available here in the "Online Store"), We've Got Steam Heat and The Lost Art of Steam Heating. If an apartment, I'd suggest you need to talk with the landlord.
