Another great resource is Rhomar. George is a great guy to talk to, and they have a cleaner and preservative all made up and ready to go for steam systems.

Cleaning the waterside of Weil Mclain boiler
I looked at a 4 year old WM GO-5 today and the water is very dirty. It is very unstable and is cycling constantly on low water. My question is, can I use TSP to clean it without damaging the seals? If not, what can I use? I will also probably ask WM on Monday but I would appreciate any ideas anyone can offer.

Flush it out first
with street pressure from a hose, while the boiler metal is cool. I'll bet there's lots of sludge at the bottom of the boiler.
