in THE MAIN WALL
hi i have a 1 pipe steam system the main pipe is hot but the pipe going to the radiator only gets hot half way up i have put in new vents and a new main but it did not help what do i need to do now ????? thanks

    Hate to say this, but it depends. Is it the last rad on the system that is not working or all of the? Did you use an adjustable vent on the rad and is it wide open? It the valve to the rad open all the way? Many conditions can cause this problem. If it is a remote rad or the last one, is the thermostat getting satisfied before the steam gets to the rad?

    hi no it is not the last radiator on the line and it is a # c gorton vent the pipe is hot about half way up to the radiator thanks for your respones
