After being dissatisfied with my Bacharach Fyrite pro 125 I finally recieved my Testo 330-1. I'min love already!
Question though,.. For those of you that use the PC software, How do you like it? And what kinds of things does it do for you?

Norm, what would you say if you got two of them?
Do give a report on what you like and don't like about it, if you would.0 -
Software
Norm
The software does several things with data/customer management. Data can be stored in the 330 and managed with the software. Also very professional reports can be generated. However the function I like the best is the online mode which allows you to see all of the readings on very large buttons all at once on the computer screen, very helpful when tuning a large boiler and you are making adjustments in the frot and measurements in the back, and also the ability to make a graph of all of the measurements through a full modulation of a boiler. The sample time can be adjusted from 1 second to hours, and all of the data can also be exported to excel. I really like using the software during training because you can show what happened and what is happening all at the same time. The software also allows for a quicker setup of the display.
Thanks

I to am VERY dissatisfied with Bacharach. (Fyrite Pro) Great name, but the reliability of the product is slowly going into the crapper.

The things I don't like about the Bacharach are:
- They recommend sending the unit back to the factory every 6 months for calibration. I've had mine for about 2 years and have already sent it in three times. The warranty is now up and I am scared to think what this will cost me for maintenance.
- The o rings on the water and filter trap have to be lubed constantly to allow yout to take it apart to empty the water or change the filter.
- I dislike having to buy batteries constantly. They do make an AC adaptor, but I cant charge the batteries.
Things I like abou t the testo are:
- Field replaceable sensors.
- Easy condensate draining.
- Rechargeable lithium ion battery
- The software option.
- I like how you can field replace just about every component,.. probe, thermocouple, (sensors as mentioned before), etc,..
- I like that I can actuallysee a lighted display without sucking disposable batteries dry.
- I like the smaller probe diameter (it can fit into system 2000 ports I think)
- I like one quick connect for attatching the probe as opposed to the two bacharach connections with o rings and a thermocouple connection.
The Bacharach Fyrite Pro has served me just fine. It's all the little extras and conveniences that the Testo offers that had me make the switch.
I also like the software (even though I havent used it yet) I see the instrument as a "cover your ****" tool. and with the Bacharach, although I try to save and file away every test printout in my customers folder, many times they don't make it in there. I hope the software will allow for easier tracking and storing of test data for future referance.
I like Testos general overall approach. Making this tool so field service friendly. This is a critical tool of our trade, and downtime is unacceptable. I can change the impeller on my oil transfer pump, change its motor, and coupling,.. I would like to do the same on all my tools. The Testo makes that possible.
Once I get some miles on the testo I'll post again if my opinions of it change.
