reverse indirect ?

I HAVE A CUSTOMER WITH WOOD FIRED BOILER [OUTSIDE]WHO WANTS TO HEAT 2500 SQ. FT. GARAGE RADIANT, 14 LOOPS 200 FT LONG.
I WOULD LIKE SOME FREEZE PROTECTION ON RADIANT AND THOUGHT ABOUT USING AN INDIRECT TANK IN REVERSE TO SEPERATE THE WOOD BOILER FROM THE PROTECTED RADIANT ZONES. CONSIDERED FLAT PLATE EXCHANGER BUT WATER QUALITY IS NOT THE BEST, REMOTE RURAL AREA WITH WELL WATER. WOOD BOILER DEALER SAID NO EXCHANGER NEEDED BOILER CONSTANTLY CIRCULATES, HOWEVER I THINK I MUST INSIST ON PROTECTING TUBING IN SLAB FROM POWER OUTAGES AND THE LIKE.....BETTER NIGHT SLEEP. ANY ADVICE IS WELCOME AND THANKS IN ADVANCE

    Is it

an open system, non pressurized wood boiler? If so you will need to maintain the A side of any HX that sees fresh water on a continual basis. They have chemicals available but you need to replenish them often as they evaporate, steam away, or get diluted when water is added.

I have used the tank in tank indirects backwards, although I'm not sure the manufacture would bless that installation.

Typically with an OWF outdoor wood furnace, you have plenty of buffer capacity, you just need the HX separation.

A tube and shell HX may be a middle choice, although still an expensive option.

What ever method you use add a couple Webstone purge port ball valves. this provides a simple way to acid flush the HX later on.
