Where is GrandPAH?
Jackchips wrote: It's too bad GrandPah is on self imposed leave as it would be interesting to get his take on inspectors watching plumbing material leave a store and the inspector following the purchaser home.
I read this in another thread. Where's Dave, and why a "self imposed" leave???????

He had enough of Ken
and took himself out of the game.Retired and loving it.0 -
I'm sorry to hear that......
Maybe we could all do a mass-email campaign. If we harass him enough, will he come back????

Dave's his own man, John.
I'm sure he's doing what's best for himself.Retired and loving it.0 -
I'd like to see Dave
hang out a little. I hope he'll come back after a rest, he has ALOT to offer.

From one Grandpa to another GrandPAH
Dave, Your absence here makes the place a little less than it was when you were here. Hoping to see you back someday!0 -
I agree!
We need Mr. Yates back.
He was my first mentor on the wall. Got me out of a lot of trouble on my first radiant job.
GUYS LIKE THAT ARE HARD TO FIND.

A regular Reader
I have been coming to "The Wall" for about eight years. I don't post as often as some but I read the Wall daily. When I first began frequenting here Dave, ME, HB, and Hot Rod were some of the frequent and knowledgable posters. Ken was a frequent and ever the opinionated poster.
The Wall did and still does have an "ebb and flo". I have seen it move from one internet service to another. People have come and gone, some by choice some not. People have become parents others grand parents. Ken has retired from his business. Some posters have passed to another life. The Wall has had a period of shut down which prompted the launch of Area51HVAC which has come and gone. I have seen Dave evolve from a business owner and sharp radiant installer to now working with mfg's such as the hot water video. I've also seen him fight city hall and win. Everyone's life changes it's priorities and direction. I just have a feeling we haven't heard the end of him we may just see him less.

Cmon Dave we need you back! Your an important cog in this wheel!

John
any chance you asked his opinion on the Inspector following plumbing material out of a store to it's destination?
Being a politician and former inspector I have disagreed with Dave on many occasions but agreed much more often. More important, I've learned from him.
Bring back GrandPah.

Ain't dead yet!
Scott Milne sent me this thread & I appreciate your thoughts.
However, I was off base with my reaction to things on this site and need to resolve those conflicts (in my mind) before I return. My aplogies for forgetting that this is to be an educational site and losing my temper. My bad. I should have ignored the rude posts that were getting under my skin and, instead, helped give advice to the gentleman who was asking for some hydronic help.
I've been on an emotional roller-coaster ride with some serious parental health issues and that's consuming lots of our time. No doubt that helped to cloud my vision and had an overriding affect on my judgment. Still, that's not a valid excuse.
Now, get back to The Wall's work you scabberous dogs! Life moves on & so must we all. I've been up on the roof contemplating Jimmy Carter & Ronald Reagan(G).
Best wishes for a joyous holiday season to you all.

Hear Hear!
I also cast a vote against the kind of behavior that made him leave in the first place. Disagreements come up every day. Handling them without making it personal is what we should all strive for. Otherwise, the emotions can get in the way of a constructive discussion.0 -
Well said, Constantin!

for the Plumber At Heart
Miss you Dave. Lifes too short to abandon those little things that touch us every day. Take your time, we will be here when you get back.

Mr. Yates
As one of many Wallies who has read your posts and learned a great deal of things from them, I am glad to hear you will be back.I also wanted to say I'm sorry your dealing with "parental health issues", and while I don't know what they are, I just wanted to wish you the best in resolving these issues, and know I will keep you in my thoughts, as I'm sure everyone else will. Also please keep in mind, I'm sure nobody blames you for having a clouded head, when your mind is on family, as family always comes first, and the Wall comes after.
All the best, and I hope you'll be back soon.
