Probably about due...

out of curiosity if nothing else, Paul! It seems you too share my curiosity.

In my own house, I just pulled the filter bag and magnets, it having run for the past year since I checked them last. They have been in place since 2003 by the way. First year I used a 50 micron bag filter, second year a 20 micron and now a 5 micron. As far as I can tell the filter bags just look dirty, like an old sock. No solid material that I can tell.

The magnets after the first year looked like Iron Chia Pets or our local Goth Punk band. I wiped them off and put them back.

After another year, the band got crew cuts apparently. A year later, just one week ago they had a film of black magnetite. At the rate they are going, next year they may look like Vin Diesel.

Very little magnatite inside the filter housing itself (which is steel). A wipe of the finger lifted a very slight film.

I topped the system off with Rhomar 922 and put them all back in operation after wiping.

If I did not mention, I get the Rare Earth Magnets at LeeValley.com, a favorite tool and hardware catalog store. They come in all shapes and sizes and erase credit and ATM cards with very little effort.

If I can, I will post photos of the magnets when I pull them. That is, if there is anything interesting to show of course!

Uhh....

I haven't met Brad personally, but ever since the Witness Protection Program relocated him, I think he's been okay.
