the JB3 was put back into service - it made all the bugs in the 12 000 000 gal tank happy. so if I am firing at 8 500 000 btuh on nat gas - I would be about half that for the other gas??? It's a difficult burner to do that - as I can set gas separately but not the air - might make for some intersting flue gases! the system was too cold today to crank up the digester - so we have to wait! And JB 3's like it just so on light off! Fortunately I light off on nat gas and then switch to bio on the main gas. Next visit will be more interesting!

    looking for calorific content

For biogas produced in a high temp anaerobic process. Need to program my analyser for a "user fuel" designation. Any ideas? Or do I have to have a lab analysis for methane/carbon dioxide/ hydrogen sulphide content?? Utility is resurrecting a Volcano boiler to preheat the composting/digesting material. Burner unknown at this point - will find out tuesday morning. kcal/kg would be the most useful measurement.

    glenn ...

the btu content can vary a LOT...
but not more than, say 500 butes/cf
    it is mostly ...
    nitrogen
    water
    sulphur
    grit
    with something flammable mixed in

I do a LOT of **** Gas work
