It must not have worked the first time you went to fire it,... the floor is clean enough to eat off of !!

Excellent looking install.

I finished this enough on Wedensday to go back and deal with the no heat calls.I went back this morning to put the finishing touches and tests to it.

The homeowner is wonderfully surprized to longer have to hear the "tink....tink...tink" of the baseboards coming up to temperature, and is duly impressed with the hot water production from the 53 gallon tank. (we removed a stand alone that was forever giving up the ghost)

It was slick to have all this space, and they didn't notice that it takes up slightly less space than the old W/M and water heater.

My new sidekick Pat did a great job with me, and many thanks to Scott for letting me do it "my way". Enjoy. Chris

    OOOHH Chris!!!!

Buderus, tekmar, Spirovent, Grundfoss and blue paint on the board!!!! Too much! You are cool. I'm glad you and Scott get along, and I'm glad your new guy is in the mix. Very nice, my friend. Jack

    Wow.

Another breathtaking installation, Chris! You and Pat should be proud, as should Mr. Milne for allowing you free rein.

    Simply beautiful....

Now to get that darn Sinatra tune out of my head....

Congratulations to the lucky owner too.

    THANKS GUYS.

I really like this one. It will be going into my folder as one of the nicest to date.

Brad, see what we can do? Let's try to make the Rockport job come together. I'd like to show more but the batteries were running low on the camera. Chris

We use the heck out of those Buderus boilers. For a cast iron boiler, they are the best buy.

Nice job Chris. Call me crazy but those 15/58's look like the direction of flow is toward the boiler? Or maybe I am still on my turkey hangover

    Great job chris!

What and where do you get that large box to hide the electric?

Called a gutter. Comes in 4X4 or 6X6 and different lengths. You can cut it down and cap it. Electrical supply houses.

    Ray and Timco,

They ARE pumping away, I just moved the motors 180° to get the electric feeds on the top. (Thanks H.R.!)

Grunfos , in their infinite wisdom, made the motors able to be mounted anyway they need to when they did the re-design to the 15-58's. With the 15-42 and previous models they could only be shifted 180°, but with the new electrical box...they can rotate at 90° intervals.

Thanks for the positive feedback. :) Chris

    Job

As usual, nice job. I see you used the web stone products here. Namely the return purge tees. I like putting them in black to the return manifold then copper on top. Only thing is the last one we did, almost all of the unions were loose when we went back a few weeks later to start the radiant. Have you noticed this or did one of us not eat our Wheaties that day?

You SHOULD like that one, Chris!

One of those that have you staring at it when done. No hurry to leave the job site, I can imagine. I cannot say it is your nicest you have done, for they are all so. But it is one of the nicest I have ever seen of anyone's, bar none. I can take your word for it, for it is stunning.

You know what? The sheer organization you show says to me that you and Pat are not only excellent installers but have a keen eye for design, absolutely.

Buderus and Viessmann are at the top of my list for that R. job (Shhhhh.... :) ) because of low flue exits. We shall talk.
  • WOW...

Guess we'll have to ship Scooter to Colorado to ski more often...

    Great work guys.

  • Oh Man !

You really outdid yourself with this one Chris . This system looks damn beautiful , your best so far in my opinion . What brand manifolds do you use ? I like the union after the Spirovent for just in case . And who did the wiring ? Very nice - looks like someone adopted the Tazmanian Loops for the circ wires . I try that too to keep the wires away from other stuff .

How you gonna top this one Chris ?

Great looking job. Love that shade of blue. :) How is the water temperature controlled? I was expecting to see a logomatic but see the Tek mar blue box. Which control and how are things running? Thanks. WW

    Ron,

The headers are made by E-Z Header. The unions are there out of necessity...we had to build this one while the old boiler kept going for a day, measure and hang then fit it into place in 1 day.

My bud Brett did his usual bang up job on the wiring.(Ma. code says we still need a licensed electrcian for all new installs)

The combination is quite sweet, and even the homeowner likes the look. See ya soon . Chris

    Wayne,

It is a Tekmar 260. The indirect temp is controled by a Honeywell L8040B to the Tekmar and cranked up to 160°. It is being tempered with the Honeywell/Sparco mixing valve to 120° as it feeds the kids rooms and kitchen only. The other half of the home is on stand alones, in the other basement.

    It's running wonderfully ! Chris
