Inactive boiler boiler problems.

I'm thinking of installing a propane on demand domestic hot water heater, and putting in a storage tank with some solar to preheat. I currently have a coil in the boiler that heats my domestic. The problem is my steam boiler will be inactive during the summer months. Is it bad for a boiler to remain idle for months on end?? Will humidity and soot in the combution areas cause corrosion? If so can I install a small dehumdifier in the boiler itself??

inactive boiler
Not a big issue but have the unit cleaned and serviced immediately after shut down. This will prevent any accumulation of soot to absorb moisture and cause problems.
