    Mystery thermostatic radiator valve

On a weekend shopping trip with my wife (oh, joy), I noticed an unfamiliar TRV on an old one pipe steam radiator in a gift shop. The product appears to be a shortcut method for converting one pipe steam radiators to hot water circulation. It simply screws into the former bottom steam opening and has two connections for 1/2" PEX, presumably supply and return. Assuming the potential short circuiting problems are mitigated by the nozzle on this valve and that trapped air in the top of the radiator can be minimized, this sure looks easy compared to drilling out 100 year old plugs.

Is anybody out there familiar with this product? It must perform reasonably well because the system I was looking at was not new and I assume it has been heating adequately for several seasons. I'm also assuming that this is the correct, intended application for the product. I have a job coming up that involves this kind of conversion and this valve looks like a potential timesaver.

It could have been a single entry valve.

That sure looks like it, Alan. Can you give me a brand name or manufacturer's rep or something? Upstate New York area.
