Jimbo,

I was taught exactly the same way as you describe doing it.

    Wick, proper usage

This may sound overly simple, but i just have to inquire. Several guys at work, plumbers & fitters, recently got into it concerning wick on threaded ends. I have been taught to let the wick lay smoothly in each thread, running from end to end. A few of the guys simply wrap the wick around the threaded end, aimlessly, landing in some threads and missing others. That way, it seems to me, that it will just ball-up as the male threads run into the joint. Any ideas?
