How many?
Bruce, how many photo's would you like? I grew up in Lincoln and North Woodstock and most of my family still resides in the area. My Grandfather was a logger from way back and used to feed in to the old paper mill back in it's prime. If you haven't been there since the 70's it would probably blow you away with the way the place has changed.

LCHMB??
Didn't know you lived in Lincoln! It's now at about 250,000 people and growing everyday. From what part of town did you hail?
Edit: Brainlock..thought it was Lincoln NE, not NH. Sorry, no coffee yet.

250,000?? Jeesh, I must be in the wrong state..LOL...I actually grew up in North Woodstock NH. The history behind the town though is incredible. I'll see if I can get some picture's this week of some of the old steam engine's which still run in the area...0 -

I'm one of those guys that goes to Loon once in a while. My SIL has a condo in Loon Village. And there's a small engine like your picture at the entrance to the Loon ski area. You're right on the big crowd up there now, plus they're still building.0 -

I just figured Paul was including bears and tourists on Scottish Highland Games weekend at 250,000. I have been back many times, over the years was there the day the dam blew out by the now imfamous Loon Mt resort. I new a gent by the name of Merle last name whom escapes me lives on Main St beside the Kanc Hotel he was the cook for the Lincoln Hotel until it burnt last I knew he was still doing Bakery stuff at the Indian Head. Also worked with John Vaughhn for a few years working Constrction and kenew Mr Clark of the Hobo railroad. Pics are good though feel free to send them to me in your spare time thanks.0 -
Incredible
Merle is still cooking at the Indian Head. Missing a few finger's and all. I haven't given thought to John in a few years but I believe he is still around. I'll check with my Father on that. Speaking of him, if you know Merle then you must know John Lynch (no, not the governor). As to Loon, I grew up working for Sherm Adam's and Phil Gravink (sp)...
They have just recently brought the Highland games back to Loon. They had been gone for a few year's due to money issues. The Hobo Railroad is still going strong and run's a number of dinner car's out of Meredith. Hmm, let's see what I can find for the older pic's in town. Where do you reside now Bruce? And were you related to any of the Steven's families in the area? Believe there is one family still in the area...0 -
Incredible
Actually I am probably decensed from the same Stevens family but would not know all the ties, but I grew up in York, Maine still resisde near there. My dad worked for Weaver Bros Contruction and stayed at the Linclon Hotel and we would sit it the kitchen at a small table and eat supper while Merle and he would talk about who knows what and play cards. Dad was a Superentendent for Weaver then and built three sections of the Kancamagus Highway. Later he worked for Midway Excavators when they put Rt 93 by the Old Man of the Mountain and that was about the time we met John, he was a loader operator for Midway last I knew he was head of maintenance for Loon Mt. I spent many summers around Lincoln/Woodstock and Conway area.0 -
